Developing opportunity
A new, mixed-use health innovation district is coming to the iconic shores of Lake Michigan. And we’re seeking diverse partners in its construction.
This 70+ acre redevelopment of the former Michael Reese Hospital site will serve as a global hub for innovation and wellness. The project aims to help shape the landscape of the community, establishing a model for community wellness that promotes health for people, the neighborhood, and the planet.
We invite you to be part of building this rich future with us.
A Vision for Progress
community
Bronzeville Lakefront involves the community in its development, aiming to be an economic engine for the South Side, providing inclusive economic growth, education, vocational opportunities, and sustainable careers. It includes 9+ acres of open space and a commercial thoroughfare on Cottage Grove Ave. The project values social impact and aims to create a healthy and inclusive community for the future with a $3.8B+ investment.
Opportunity
Bronzeville Lakefront is investing in the education and future careers of the local youth, with 36% of the population being under 23 years old. The project will allocate $25M to improve nearby educational facilities, provide internships, and prioritize local hiring for apprenticeships. These efforts aim to equip young people with necessary skills for future leadership roles and long-term impact.
Innovation
Sheba's ARC at Bronzeville Lakefront is focused on creating accessible and transformative care by developing innovative solutions. Their model, successful in Israel and globally, will be adapted for the U.S at the Bronzeville Innovation Center (BIC). The BIC will connect Illinois' life sciences and healthcare community with global partners. Sheba's ARC will be the anchor tenant opening a permanent facility in early 2024 at the Bronzeville Lakefront development.
